Stanislaus River Rafting Covid-19 Rules

Rules for participants

-At the end of the day, we are a raft rental company that operates in public parks.  If you are nervous about this activity, know that we have very little control over behavior in public parks and on the water (the trips are 7 miles long, so we won't be present on a large majority).  If you are looking for a highly regulated, curated experience, this is not it.

-Reservations are required beforehand

-We recommend that guests only share rafts if they are from the same houseshold, or otherwise people that you have already been exposed to, as it is difficult to socially distance within a raft.  If you have a larger group, and need special accomodations/extra rafts, give us a call at 209-847-4671 or email us at info@riverjourney.com.

-If someone is showing signs of being sick, we reserve the right to refuse service.

-One medium size ice chest per boat (2' x 1.5' x 1' deep). Groups that bring excessive amounts of alcohol will be turned away.

-We will have spread out check-in times and reduced capacity, so groups that are more than 15 minutes late for their reservation may be turned away.

-Congregating in large groups is not allowed in the parking lot, in the parks, or on the river.  Large groups getting close together can face fines up to $250.

-Please do not get within 6 feet of employees or within 6 feet of other people in other rafts.
-Tying rafts together is strictly prohibited.

-If shuttles are busy when your trip ends, only drivers will be shuttled so that people can be spaced properly on the shuttles.  Drivers will be shuttled to their car and then can return to the park.  We will have social distancing measures on all buses to separate different boats and groups.

-Only group leaders will approach check-in.  Group leaders will need to know their head count, and have liability waivers and money collected when checking in.

-Sherriffs will be on site at the parks.  Groups that do not follow social distancing and/or congregate in large groups can be banned from using services and kicked out of the parks.

-Guests need to wear a mask at check in, at the public parks when congregating in groups, and during the shuttle ride at the end of the trip.

What the company will do to keep things safe

-Equipment will be cleaned after every trip. Paddles, life jackets, and dry boxes will be cleaned with soap and sprayed with disinfectant. Boats will be wiped down and disinfected.

-Check ins will be spread out on busy days from 9AM to 1:30PM.  Groups will be checked in separately and spaced out.

-Safety talks will be given at an appropriate distance.

-Groups will take their own equipment from the prep area to the river (~30-40ft).

-We will have employees stationed at spots along the river to ensure groups are not congregating.  Groups that violate distancing and congregation rules will be warned, and then fined.

-We will have spread out check-in times and reduced capacity, so groups that are more than 15 minutes late for their reservation may be turned away.

-Groups are advised to enjoy their lunches in their boats to avoid congregating at parks.

-Employees will be upstream of the take out area to advise groups on how to prep for end of trip, and to space groups out.
